In June 2025, the Queensland Government transferred oversight of Queensland Hydro to Queensland Investment Corporation (QIC). QIC has extensive experience managing infrastructure assets and is well placed to provide oversight of project delivery.
At Queensland Hydro, you will find a purpose-driven organisation committed to transforming Queensland's energy landscape. Our mission is clear: we harness the power of water to secure the state's energy future. Guided by our core values – We act with care, We deliver together, and We are ambitious – we foster a culture of collaboration, innovation and integrity. You will be responsible for the procurement and contract management services for project support, including planning and sourcing of major infrastructure partners and goods and services in support of the delivery of the Queensland Hydro strategic priorities.
Your key responsibilities will be:
- Provide advice on end-to-end procurement processes and practices to ensure fit for purpose goods and services are sourced and delivered efficiently on time and in accordance with sound governance practices.

- Promote awareness and deliver training of best practice procurement, including Qld Government BPP/BPIC requirements and contract management policies and procedures across the organisation.
- Collaboratively develop and implement contract and supplier strategies, sourcing initiatives, and benefit realisation, aligning with organisational commitments.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement in procurement practices, setting metrics and targets to measure and enhance performance.
- Establish and maintain a supplier relationship management framework with a continuing focus on value for money fit for purpose outcomes.
Who You Are
To thrive in this role, you will bring a formal qualification in procurement or business management, along with more than 10 years of experience in major infrastructure procurement initiatives. - Demonstrated experience in standard and alternative procurement and contract management strategies for Major Infrastructure Projects
- Highly developed negotiation skills to close out major infrastructure contracts
- Specific demonstrated experience working within the Queensland Procurement Policy/BPP/BPIC
