About the role
As a Veterinary Nurse/receptionist at Pet Doctor Woodville, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care and support to our furry patients. This casual position is an opportunity to join a dedicated team committed to the wellbeing of animals.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting veterinarians during examinations, procedures, and treatments. This will include lifting and/or restraining heavy animals.
- Assisting in monitoring and caring for hospitalised animals, including during anaesthetic and in recovery.
- Performing laboratory tests such as blood tests, and maintaining accurate medical records.
- Educating clients on animal health, nutrition, and preventative care. This includes routine treatments such as vaccines, a range of specialty diets and preventative care such as flea treatment and worming.
- Maintaining a clean and well-organised work environment. A large part of the role will be cleaning the clinic after surgery and before closing.
- Providing exceptional customer service to our clients.
- Reception duties such as taking phone calls and booking in appointments.
What we're looking for
- Although not mandatory, experience working in a veterinary clinic is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to multitask
- A compassionate and patient-focused approach to animal care
