About the Role
Join a high-performing team driving the evolution and scale of Sportsbet's cloud platform. As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you'll lead core initiatives across architecture, automation, governance, and cost optimisation. This strategic role offers the opportunity to shape secure, scalable cloud solutions that power enterprise-wide innovation—while collaborating closely with teams across the business to ensure seamless execution and alignment with key company goals.
Your day could see you doing:
- Building the accounts and core services that other engineers are using.
- Rolling your sleeves up and utilising your engineering experience to write object-orientated, scalable code.
- Building and designing cloud platforms using infrastructure-as-code, deployed using CI/CD pipelines.
- Leading cloud engineering initiatives and projects.
- Fostering a culture of excellence by consistently adhering to and promoting industry best practices, inspiring team members to do the same.
- Establishing and enforcing cloud engineering standards and best practices.
About You
You have the ability to ask the right questions, architect solutions from scratch, and act as an SME advisor to other builders. Ideally you would also have:
- Strong experience developing testable software with languages like Python or Typescript.
- Experience with AWS, with the ability to design and deploy scalable, reliable and secure applications independently.
- A solid understanding of cloud networking and core Internet protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, DNS, SMTP, HTTP, and distributed networks).
- Strong capability to deep dive into technical issues with customer-first mindset.
- Networking, IAM and Cost Optimisation - and how they work in an enterprise cloud environment.
- Strong technical documentation skills
- Strong communications and stakeholder management skills
