If so, we want you join our client's Cloud Services team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our cloud infrastructure - initially as part of the Hosting Modernisation Program.

Your new role

As a Senior Cloud Automation Engineer, you'll take ownership of creating and implementing the next generation of cloud platforms, ensuring they're fast, secure, and scalable. This isn't just about executing a plan-it's about leading from the front.

You'll bring your expertise to implement cloud capabilities that will transform how we deploy and manage our services inside our Cloud platform, using innovative tools such as Ansible, Terraform Cloud, ArgoCD to name a few.

You'll collaborate directly with Architecture, Infrastructure, Applications and Cybersecurity teams to ensure every solution is not only innovative but also aligned with the high standards and security practices. Your hands-on approach will be crucial in upskilling the team, guiding them on the journey towards technical excellence.

In this challenging and rewarding position, you will be responsible for:

  • Architect and Deliver: Develop detailed designs and blueprints for next-gen Cloud and Automation capabilities that drive innovation and efficiency.
  • Automation First: Implement cloud solutions with an automation-first mindset-empowering the business with seamless, scalable systems.
  • Lead Transformation: As a senior technical lead within the Hosting Modernisation Program, transform legacy systems into cutting-edge public cloud solutions.
  • Collaboration at Its Best: Work cross-functionally with Architecture, Infrastructure & Applications support and Cybersecurity teams to ensure every solution meets standards and security protocols.
  • Shape the Future: Be at the centre of strategic cloud initiatives that will not just support but elevate cloud solutions for tomorrow.
  • Support & Sustain: Ensure that existing cloud solutions are continuously optimised and supported, keeping everything running smoothly and securely.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Cloud Engineering Experience: You've successfully implemented cloud solutions and automated complex workloads in public cloud environments - AWS preferred.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, AWS certifications or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated experience in engineering and managing complex Cloud deployments
  • Strong technical expertise in AWS (IaaS, PaaS, Serverless, Containers)
  • Understand & have previous delivery capabilities/ experience using Terraform Cloud, Ansible, CloudFormation for Orchestration and automation
  • Strong technical expertise in DevSecOps, IaC and CI/CD tools (e.g. BitBucket, ArgoCD)
  • Strong programming language capabilities (Python, GO, JSON, Nodejs)
  • Cloud Networking capability (VPC, Load Balancers & Transit Gateway)
