*Position Summary & Primary Objectives*

Reporting to the Team Lead – Cloud Operations, the Senior Cloud Engineer – Cloud Operations is responsible for engaging with customers to address their most complex cloud and cybersecurity challenges within a Managed Services context. This role involves providing innovative, scalable, and secure cloud solutions across multi-cloud environments, including AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud ensuring operational excellence, and maintaining secure and reliable cloud solutions for our customers.

In collaboration with our Pre-sales, Professional Services, and Leadership teams, the Senior Cloud Engineer – Cloud Operations ensures the seamless delivery of cloud services, focusing on operational excellence, service continuity, and ongoing cloud management. The role includes monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimising cloud infrastructure, with a focus on proactive support to mitigate risks and ensure long-term service reliability. By utilising best practices and automation tools, this position plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, consistent Managed Services that align with customer business goals.

*Key Roles & Responsibilities*

  • Manage, monitor, and optimise multi-cloud environments in particular Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 to ensure high availability, performance, and cost efficiency. Implement automation and best practices to improve operational workflows and reduce manual intervention.
  • Provide ongoing proactive support to clients, identifying and resolving cloud-related issues before they impact services. Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to cloud infrastructure, security, and networking, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum service continuity.
  • Ensure cloud environments are secure, adhering to industry best practices and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR). Implement and manage cloud security controls, conduct vulnerability assessments, and work to protect client data and infrastructure from evolving cyber threats.
  • Participate in working as part of an on–call roster in accordance with CyberCX's Paryroll and Overtime policies. TBC

Mandatory Qualifications, Experience & Skills

  • Relevant certifications in, or extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud platforms including but not limited to the following
  • Azure IaaS
  • Azure PaaS
  • Windows 365
  • Intune
  • Defender
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering cloud services within a Managed Services framework, including service monitoring, incident management, and ensuring adherence to SLAs.
  • Deep understanding of cloud security principles, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, firewalls, and security best practices for multi-cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in automation, IAC tools, and scripting languages such as Bicep, Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation, or Python to automate cloud deployments and optimize operations.
  • Knowledge of cloud networking concepts such as VPCs, VPNs, hybrid cloud architectures, and inter-cloud connectivity, ensuring secure and reliable cloud communication
  • Experience with cloud monitoring tools (e.g. Azure Monitor, LogicMonitor, Google Cloud Operations Suite AWS CloudWatch,) and techniques to monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise cloud infrastructure.
