Overview:
KG Foods is a leading player in the food importing and manufacturing industry, committed to delivering high-quality products to our customers. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to join our team. This key leadership role involves overseeing and maintaining rigorous quality and compliance standards across our imported and locally manufactured food lines, ensuring full adherence to Australian food safety laws, FSANZ standards, and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- QA System Management: Develop, implement, and continuously improve QA and food safety management systems aligned with HACCP, GMP and SQF standards to ensure compliance at all stages of the supply chain.
- Regulatory & Standards Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian food safety laws, import regulations, and certification requirements. Ensure all products meet relevant standards and manage documentation for compliance and regulatory submissions.
- Supplier Oversight: Conduct supplier audits and assessments, reviewing documentation, validation, and compliance with food safety standards; work collaboratively with suppliers to resolve issues and improve supply chain quality.
- Food Safety Leadership: Lead and coordinate all aspects of food safety programs across manufacturing and importing operations, including risk assessment, hazard analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Audit & Certification: Prepare for and manage internal and external audits, including BRC, SQF, FSC, and regulatory inspections. Address findings promptly and implement corrective actions.
- Training & Culture Development: Foster a culture of food safety awareness and quality excellence through staff training, proactive communication, and leadership.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to innovate and optimize quality workflows, reducing waste and enhancing product safety and quality.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain meticulous records of quality metrics, audit reports, non-conformance incidents, and corrective actions.
About You:
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in food science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
- Experience: At least 5 years working in QA or food safety roles, with significant exposure to both manufacturing processes and import/export compliance.
- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of Australian food safety regulations, import and export standards, and certification processes such as BRC, SQF, and HACCP.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead audits, manage certification processes, and collaborate across diverse teams.
- Analytical Skills: Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify risk areas and implement effective solutions.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; capable of training staff and liaising with regulators and suppliers.
- Proactive Approach: A problem-solver with a proactive mindset, comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
