We're now looking for an experienced QA Manager to join our dynamic team and elevate excellence across our quality assurance operations.

About the role

As QA Manager, you'll bring enthusiasm, leadership, and a passion for quality assurance to our growing team. You'll lead our QA function to drive quality, consistency, and innovation across every ecommerce project, overseeing a diverse group of QA professionals to ensure our work is delivered with precision and meets the highest standards.

This is a full-time role (9:00am-5:00pm), based in our Melbourne office, with flexible hybrid working arrangements.

Your day may include

  • Leading and mentoring a globally distributed QA team, providing coaching, guidance, and career development support.
  • Planning and prioritising QA activities across multiple client ecommerce projects, ensuring resources are aligned with delivery schedules and team capacity.
  • Defining, reviewing, and improving QA processes and standards, making recommendations, and implementing changes that lift efficiency and quality outcomes.
  • Selecting, implementing, and owning QA tools and platforms (test management, reporting, bug tracking) that support and streamline the QA function.
  • Collaborating with project managers, developers, and client stakeholders to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, and plan appropriate test coverage.
  • Overseeing functional, regression, performance, and exploratory testing efforts, ensuring coverage is appropriate to project complexity and risk.
  • Monitoring QA metrics and reporting outcomes to leadership and clients—such as defect rates, release readiness, and QA efficiency.
  • Acting as the escalation point for quality risks and blockers, ensuring issues are identified early and resolved collaboratively.

Our ideal new addition will have

  • A minimum of 5 years in quality assurance roles, with at least 2 years leading QA teams.
  • Strong understanding of ecommerce platforms, including Shopify Plus and Commercetools (a bonus).
  • Experience with test management suites such as X-Ray or Zephyr.
  • Proven track record of managing offshore and onshore teams, fostering collaboration, and driving results.
  • Advanced knowledge of manual and automated testing methodologies, test case design, and defect management.
  • Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, capable of adapting communication styles for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments, with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing quality issues.
  • ISTQB or similar QA certifications are a plus.
