Boys to the Bush was founded in 2017 and is a registered not-for-profit community-based charity. Our priority is helping boys to become good men through our core values of engagement, respect and community. We are creating better fathers, sons, husbands, brothers, and employees for the future. Our dedicated team is based across regional locations in Victoria and New South Wales.
About the role
We are looking for a Program Coordinator to work directly with boys in our various programs including 1:1 mentoring, school holiday camps, and school groups. You must care about improving outcomes for disengaged youth and demonstrate that you can form connections with young people and connect them to the community.
Based in Bendigo, you'll mentor participants by planning and delivering programs through hands-on activities (think teaching guys about mowing lawns, farming and fishing) as well as building community connections. You'll be supported by a Location Manager and a passionate team who share your commitment to making a difference.
Our ideal candidate is a great communicator and role model, with a genuine passion for helping young people and connecting communities. This might be a great chance for a change of career path - some of our best Mentors are former tradies, teachers, police officers, and footy coaches.
In this role you will:
· Engage directly with participants in 1:1 mentoring, camps, and school group programs
· Work with community organisations and help to connect them with youth in most need
· Plan activities for participants that will help them work towards individual goals and all-round personal development
· Work with youth in Bendigo and surrounds, acting as an ambassador for Boys to the Bush
About you
· A passion for improving outcomes for disadvantaged and disengaged youth
· Able to draw upon current and generate new relationships within the community
· You have strong interpersonal skills and can manage challenging behaviours
· Commitment to improving outcomes and acting as a positive role model for young people
· A positive attitude and commitment to promoting the core values and mission of Boys to the Bush at all times
Why Boys to the Bush?
