Position Purpose:

The Senior Targeted Care Packages (TCP) Key Worker/Team Leader plays a critical role in supporting the Children's Services Manager and team to deliver high-quality Targeted Care Packages for young people at risk of entering the out-of-home care system. This position acts as a senior team member and second-in-charge, providing leadership, guidance, and operational support to ensure effective implementation of TCP initiatives and positive outcomes for young people.

The Senior TCP Key Worker will develop proposals to bring about the changes necessary to ensure the safety, stability and development of children and young people and to promote the achievement of TCP proposal objectives within specified timeframes.

Key Role Requirements:

  • Provide supervision and guidance to the TCP Key Worker team, acting as a senior point of support and escalation.
  • Offer leadership and direction to Community Support Workers, fostering professional growth through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain a case load of DFFH funded participants which may also include NDIS participants.
  • Work collaboratively with the team; identify, monitor, plan and coordinate Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) funds via TCP packages and where required, National Disability Scheme (NDIS) funds.
  • Identify and respond to risks to children – identify factors that place a child at risk of abuse or neglect and articulate this risk verbally and in writing to all relevant stakeholders, ensuring the correct reporting requirements are followed.
  • Directly engage with participants and key stakeholders to achieve participant goals, including completing your weekly outreach requirements as outlined in each TCP.
  • Provide Out-of-Hours On-Call Emergency support as rostered and in accordance with policy, procedure and work instruction.

Key Selection Criteria:

  • Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to support and coordinate a team as well as providing guidance, supervision and direction to staff.
  • Able to assume responsibility for a range of organisational functions, applying high-level knowledge and skills to achieve operational objectives.
  • Experience in case management, counselling or coordinating supports for individuals.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and convey information clearly and effectively.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within a team, fostering a positive and supportive work environment.
  • Capacity to identify and resolve issues effectively, making sound judgments and decisions in challenging situations.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively and maintain a high level of organisation.
  • Demonstrates emotional resilience when managing distressing information and proactively seeks support and guidance when required.
  • Awareness of relevant legislation, therapeutical frameworks, policies and procedures related to child protection and the placement of children in out-of-home care.
  • Operate effectively and deliver results in fast-paced, ambiguous and changing environment.
  • ICT literacy in using a range of relevant computer programs and systems including Outlook, MS Office and CRISSP.

You Will Need:

  • Qualification in relevant Community Services business disciplines including youth services, aged care and/or disability services or similar.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in child protection, family services, social work or similar (desired).
  • Current Victorian driver's licence.
  • Vehicle registration and car insurance.
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • NDIS Worker's Orientation Module – 'Quality Safety and You'.
  • Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (National Police Check).
  • International Criminal History Check (If relevant).

This position is paid under the SCHADS Award starting at Level 5.1 and paid at a level in line with experience. Salary Packaging of up to $15,900 available including Meals and Entertainment benefits.
