For 75 years, Peirson Memorial Trust, a Christian Faith based organization has provided support to children and young people who are at risk through its incorporated company Peirson Services.

The Trust began in 1947, when two Peirson sisters gifted their Bundaberg sugar cane farm to Ann Street Presbyterian Church in Brisbane for the care for orphans. Today, Peirson Farms continues producing avocados with all proceeds helping to fund free counselling and support services for vulnerable children, young people, and families in the Bundaberg region.

We are now seeking a Finance and Administration Officer, based in our Brisbane office, to assist with the day-to-day finance and administrative activities of Peirson Memorial Trust and three other associated entities.

The successful candidate will be offered:

  • Full time, permanent position
  • Flexible work options available (i.e. hybrid, job sharing)
  • Renumeration: $70,000 -$75,000 pa (plus super)
  • Tax free salary packaging up to $15,900 per annum, and an additional $2,650 per annum for entertainment and meals card

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounting assistance: processing bills for payment, generating invoices, reconciliation of bank accounts, BAS preparation and monthly reporting using Xero software
  • Board support: preparation of board packs and meeting agendas, monthly minute taking, record keeping and general administration around statutory requirements
  • Social media and Organisational material creation and management: generate organisational materials as well as content for our social media channels promoting our vision, mission and Peirson Farms produce
  • General office management: maintaining supplies, collecting and distributing mail, attending to phone calls, processing banking as required
  • Property Bookings: Managing property bookings and booking invoicing for Ann Street Presbyterian Church

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Sound organisational skills with the ability to establish work priorities and complete assigned tasks within required standards while meeting deadlines
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally while maintaining relationships at all levels
  • Ability to work effectively and proactively with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrate positivity and adaptability, with a readiness to learn new skills
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Experience in the following applications will be highly regarded: Xero, Microsoft Office Suite, Canva and Adobe
  • 5 years administrative experience (Desirable but not required)
