
Bookkeeper / Accounts Administrator

We're on the hunt for a highly organised and experienced Bookkeeper / Accounts Administrator to join our growing team. If you have strong Xero skills, an understanding of construction project workflows, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we want to hear from you.
About the Role
This is a pivotal role supporting the financial operations of our busy construction business. Reporting to senior management and collaborating closely with project teams, you will oversee day-to-day bookkeeping, accounts processing, and financial admin, while ensuring full compliance with ATO and accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records including AP, AR, and general ledger
- Prepare and send client invoices, including uploading to industry-specific portals
- Manage progress claims for construction projects in line with contract milestones
- Complete bank and credit card reconciliations
- Handle payroll, payroll tax, superannuation, and employee expense reimbursements
- Prepare BAS/IAS and support EOFY tax processes
- Support budgeting, forecasting and project costing reporting
- Follow up overdue accounts and manage payment schedules
- Assist with administration and reporting across construction projects
- Perform accurate and timely data entry of financial transactions and project details
What You'll Need:
- Qualification in Bookkeeping or Accounting (Cert IV or Diploma minimum)
- Proven bookkeeping experience in a construction or project-based environment
- Xero proficiency is essential
- SimPRO experience is highly desirable
- Experience with Dext, Excel, and accounting file management
- Sound knowledge of ATO requirements, GST, BAS, payroll, and super
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and organisational skills
- Team player who can also work independently
