Ranked #37 in World's 101 Best Steak Restaurants 2025 and an Official Kobe A5 licensed restaurant, Steer Dining Room is one of the finest in Melbourne, offering an extensive steak menu in Australia accompanied with an Award-Winning wine list with over 60 wines by the glass and 500+ selections.

We are currently looking for passionate, talented and enthusiastic Front of House professionals to join our team.

SECTION WAITER

  • Setting up and preparation of dining room for service
  • Presenting beverage menus, and table service of drinks
  • Presenting the food menus and steak trolley; making recommendations for the guests
  • Taking orders, and section management
  • Ensuring optimum guest experience and comfort throughout the evening
  • Reporting to management regarding any guest issues or feedback
  • Closing/packing down the dining room post-service
  • A unique aspect of the role is the presentation of the "Steak Trolley" to our guests, explaining a variety of different cuts, breeds, and provenance to help deliver a unique dining experience.
  • The candidate must be able to build a fabulous library of steak knowledge with the ability to passionately share and present this to our guests.

Working hours: 20-24 hours per week (Casual). Must be available Tuesday to Saturday evenings.

o Excellent attention to detail

o Efficient & hard working

o Great time management skills

o Exceptional communication skills & ability to co-operate within a team

o Immaculate presentation - well groomed & neatly dressed adhering to dress code

o Willing to learn more and develop more skills in the industry

o Experience in fine dining service: a la carte, degustation

o Passion for fine food and wine

o Interest in learning more about different breeds, cuts, styles of steak
