This role requires full-time presence in our office - remote work is not available and flexibility is limited.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations with a strong focus on compliance and procedural accuracy
- Prepare financial statements, manage audits, and ensure timely reporting — especially during peak periods
- Maintain and monitor budgets with a conservative approach to forecasting
- Ensure accuracy in financial transactions.
- Collaborate with other departments to support financial planning.
- Work proactively on tax planning strategies to optimize the company's tax position
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and ensure compliance with GST, PAYG, and other taxation requirements.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors as needed.
- Implement and maintain financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify and recommend improvements to financial systems and processes.
- Process fortnightly/monthly payroll accurately, including superannuation and payroll tax obligations.
- Maintain employee records for leave, entitlements, etc.
Requirements:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or a closely related discipline (Bachelor's degree minimum; Master's preferred)
- Professional accreditation such as CPA or an equivalent certification is essential
- 3+ years of corporate accounting experience
- Fluency in spoken and written English is a mandatory requirement
- Strong command of accounting systems including but not limited to Xero
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, are expected
- Good understanding of tax laws and ability to research and investigate with guidance from external accountants
- Ability to work independently with minimal cross-functional interaction
- High level of accuracy and analytical capability, with a preference for detail-oriented work
Work Environment:
- Office-based, five days a week — remote or hybrid arrangements are not supported
- Structured schedule with clearly defined expectations

Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
Education:
- Masters Degree (Required)
Experience:
- Accounting: 3 years (Required)
- Auditing: 3 years (Preferred)
- Microsoft Office: 3 years (Required)
- Accounting software such as Xero: 3 years (Preferred)
Language:
- Fluent English (Required)
Licence/Certification:
- CPA Qualification or Equivalent Certification (Required)
