Main responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

· Plan, organise, and oversee the preparation and cooking of food in a busy dining and catering environment.

· Develop and plan menus, incorporating authentic flavours and seasonal ingredients, while estimating food and labour costs.

· Order and manage food supplies to ensure efficient stock control.

· Monitor the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation, ensuring consistency in taste, texture, and visual appeal.

· Discuss food preparation requirements and issues with Managers, Dietitians, kitchen staff, and waiting staff.

· Demonstrate cooking techniques and advise on food preparation procedures.

· Prepare and cook dishes to a high standard, maintaining authenticity and creativity.

· Explain and enforce hygiene and food safety regulations across all kitchen operations.

· Supervise, train, and support kitchen staff, including junior team members.

· Freeze and preserve foods where necessary to maintain stock and minimise waste.

Other requirements are:

Work Eligibility: Permitted to work permanently with no restriction on hours (Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident preferred)

Qualifications: Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or Kitchen Management required

Previous experience: At least 3 years working as a Chef, ideally in Asian cuisine

Strong understanding of kitchen operations and food safety regulations

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain high standards under pressure

Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Language: Conversant in English

Job Type: Full-time
