A global financial services firm is seeking a temporary Business Support Associate to join its Sydney CBD operations team for a 12-month temporary assignment with potential extension. The team manages equity compensation plans and is transferring day-to-day servicing to an external provider, creating a high-impact, transitional environment that demands precision and strong partner engagement. You will be part of a small operations unit that supports trading, settlement and reconciliation activities and works closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
Your new role
Provide hands-on business and operations support throughout the service transition and ongoing plan servicing. Key duties include running large data extracts, executing tasks in the equity compensation platform and ticketing system, preparing business and management reports, and supporting trading, settlement and reconciliation activities where extra capacity is required. Act as a primary contact between internal teams and external partners, track and investigate open queries, escalate issues appropriately, and ensure compliance and audit requirements are followed.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience: 2-3 years in financial services operations or similar environment preferred. Experience with Excel and v-look ups is required.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Technical ability: Proficiency with common office technology and the capacity to learn new platforms and ticketing systems quickly.
- Organisational skills: Strong time management, ability to multitask, prioritise competing requests and manage daily workflow.
- Analytical mindset: High attention to detail, strong problem-solving and data-handling accuracy.
- Attitude: Proactive, flexible and comfortable working autonomously and as part of a team, including collaborating with offshore colleagues across time zones.
