Kennedys is seeking a highly motivated
Senior Associate or Associate
to join our busy commercial litigation practice based in either our Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane office.
Working closely with two highly regarded Partners, Raylee Hartwell and Matt Andrews, and a wider team of experienced Lawyers, you will predominantly be working on an interesting multi-party Federal Court litigation which has reached the discovery phase.
The focus of this work is in the insurance and trade credit space, which will involve working closely with our international offices (namely London). This is a unique opportunity for an experienced lawyer to further develop their hands-on technical exposure to the fast-paced world of commercial litigation while taking on greater responsibility and mentoring junior team members.

The broader insurance group in Australia have extensive experience working with both domestic and international insurers amongst other corporates across multiple lines of work, with a particular depth of expertise in professional indemnity, financial institutions, directors' and officers' (D&O), property and construction, energy, cyber, marine, transport and commercial litigation / employment.
Who We Are Looking For
- 4+ years PQE*, from a reputable commercial litigation team
- Federal Court litigation experience
- Prior trade credits exposure is desirable
- E-litigation or discovery experience
- Leadership qualities and ability to mentor junior lawyers
- Proven ability to manage complex matters with minimal supervision
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are essential
- Methodical and organised approach to file management
- Ability to manage own time, excellent organisation skills and attention to detail
- High level of professionalism and integrity; displaying the highest standard of professional ethics
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic with a genuine desire to further your career at Kennedys
