An established business that is continuing to grow and diversify its operations is looking for a 'Safety & Quality Systems Support Officer' to join their team on a permanent basis. This varied role will primarily be responsible for providing Safety/Quality (WHS) support to manufacturing and warehouse operations.

Position: Safety & Quality Systems Support Officer

Type: Permanent

Salary: Depending on experience (Min 1-2 years' experience)

Location: Wollongong area

Work type: On-site

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Ensure risk assessments are conducted and reviewed in accordance with the Risk Management System
  • Conduct accident investigations as per company standards
  • Review and develop safety policies and procedures
  • Support the injury management process
  • Conduct monthly safety audits
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of safety improvements
  • Provide occupational first aid and weighbridge coverage on an ad hoc basis
  • Support site drain monitoring and testing requirements
  • Assist in the Quality Management System
  • Conduct testing of products to guarantee they meet business requirements and specifications
  • Complete quality audits
  • Assist with document control and updating of procedures
  • Laboratory testing of manufactured products
  • Respond to customer complaints or enquiries
  • Provide training and support to internal staff

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Some experience with Safety/Quality (WHS), ideally in a manufacturing environment
  • Ideally familiar with ISO 9001 safety standards and legislation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Enjoys working with others in a collaborative fashion
  • Ability to educate/coach with all thing's safety
  • Self-motivated and can work independently
  • Good problem-solving abilities / can think outside the box
