What You Will Get To Do:
This role provides an opportunity for experienced software development professionals to be part of a fast growing and successful software manufacturer in the Wealth Management environment. The role entails development of new applications and maintenance of existing systems. The engineer will undertake many roles across the organisation including but not limited to new client projects, supporting the production support team as required and improvements to the supporting tools used by the development community.

  • Help the core platform team to uplift software development tools and practices, develop and improve new and existing core product framework such as workflow and transaction engines and batch processing. The technical environment for software development consists of multiple system platforms and a variety of methodologies, techniques, languages, tools, and utilities.
  • Uplift and apply coding standards and best practices in software development.
  • Assist and guide Testers in the development of functional test cases for developed software.
  • Work with the BA and QA team members as well as internal and external stakeholders to elaborate features and user stories.
  • Perform in-depth analysis and investigation tasks as required to identify solutions.
  • Demonstrates a depth and breadth of expertise within a discipline, and has a deep understanding of the business, financials, products/services, or market.
  • Assist in creating detailed designs.
  • Monitor effort expended against assigned activity and regularly update both the effort expended and the estimate to complete a task. Continuously improve the time taken to completion by introducing innovations and efficiencies.
  • Attend, organise and contribute to all cross-functional team activities, including but not limited to team planning, demonstrations, retrospectives. May also lead a process or function without direct reports.
  • Advises and provides direction to more junior professionals.

What You Will Bring:

  • Familiarity with enterprise integration platforms and middleware technologies.
  • Capable of debugging complex Production code.
  • Capable of articulating workarounds for immediate Production fixes.
  • Capable of applying a pragmatic approach to development undertakings.
  • Strong experience in efficient processing of large volumes of data.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.
  • Experience working in a geographically distributed team environment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, architects, testers, and project managers, to ensure successful delivery of integration projects.
  • Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on integration best practices, coding standards, and troubleshooting techniques.

Prior knowledge and skills:

  • Strong experience with CI/CD, Git, Git Workflow.
  • Have extensive coding, testing and documentation experience with good coding practices.
  • Strong Oracle and SQL knowledge and experience is essential.
  • Proficiency in IBM AIX / UNIX, IBM Vignette, Shell scripting.
  • Strong hands on development experience on TIBCO iProcess Workspace , IWS (Image Workflow System).
  • Solid understanding of integration patterns, messaging protocols (e.g., EMS, REST, SOAP), and API management concepts.
  • Experience in creating complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.
  • Experience with performance tuning and optimisation of integration solutions.
  • Knowledge of financial & investment products including Superannuation, Unit Trust and Pension products is desirable.
  • .Net development experience in a complex application environment advantageous.
  • .Minimally requires a Master's degree and 4 years of related experience, or Bachelor's degree and 6 years of related experience, or high school degree and 8 years of related experience
