Digital Communications Officer

We have an opportunity for a talented marketing strategist and digital content developer to join us in the position of Digital Communications Officer & Graphic Designer in either a full-time or part-time position on a 12-month fixed term contract.

About this Opportunity

The position is responsible for developing highly interactive and user-friendly digital communications for the City of Kalamunda whilst assisting with connected sites for City business units web and digital content.

This position requires a good communication platform which is both friendly, approachable, and engaging. Further, it will liaise with stakeholders to provide up-to-date and relevant content which reflects the needs of both City staff and the residents of Kalamunda. Whilst reporting on all aspects of digital marketing and communication to the Coordinator Communications, it will source and provide information on new opportunities and provide support and advice for any City projects as, as well as undertaking graphic design for digital and traditional campaigns.

About You

You will be working in a busy environment therefore the ability to work accurately and at pace is important. Our ideal candidate will be self-managed and full of initiative.

Selection Criteria

1. Relevant qualification and / or minimum of 3 years' experience in marketing, development and implementation of digital campaigns.
2. Knowledge and minimum of 18 months experience in developing, and content managing social media sites for a large organisation.
3. Knowledge and experience using Adobe Creative Suite/Creative Cloud design skillset.
4. Knowledge and experience of data analysis and trends on various digital platforms, forums and in site modernisation and to drive marketing and engagement campaigns.
5. Experience with Microsoft Windows and Office is required.
6. Knowledge and experience with website content management is advantageous.
7. Local Government experience (desirable).

Hours of Work

Full-time position: This is a 12-month fixed term contract working Monday to Friday, 75 hours per fortnight. You'll enjoying flexible work arrangements or an option for a fortnightly or monthly rostered day off.

Part-time position:This is a 12-month fixed term contract working 37.5 hours per fortnight, enjoying flexible working hours with a focus on outcomes.

About the Benefits

This position offers a salary between $82, $87, dependent on skills and experience) per annum or pro rata if part-time, plus superannuation.  Benefits include free parking, a generous superannuation co-contribution scheme, annual leave accrual which attracts an additional 17.5% leave loading, personal leave accrual, free access to online learning, and discounted memberships at City owned facilities.
