Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Furniture Specialist with expertise in office fit-outs to join our team. This role involves planning, specifying, sourcing, and overseeing the installation of office furniture solutions that align with workspace design, functionality, and client requirements. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of ergonomic principles, office design trends, and vendor relationships, combined with project coordination experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with clients, designers, architects, and project managers to understand furniture requirements for office fit-outs.
  2. Conduct site assessments and provide space planning input to ensure optimal furniture layout and functionality.
  3. Select, specify, and recommend appropriate furniture solutions based on client needs, budget, and brand standards.
  4. Create detailed furniture schedules, plans, and proposals.
  5. Manage procurement, delivery timelines, and coordination with suppliers and manufacturers.
  6. Oversee and coordinate furniture installation on-site, ensuring quality and compliance with design intent.
  7. Provide post-installation support, including snagging, adjustments, and issue resolution.
  8. Stay current with industry trends, sustainability practices, and product innovations in office furniture.
  9. Maintain documentation, including budgets, inventory, warranties, and vendor communications.

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience (3+ years preferred) in office furniture specification and project-based fit-out work.
  2. Strong understanding of office planning, ergonomic standards, and modern workplace trends.
  3. Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, or other design/space planning software is an advantage.
  4. Excellent communication and project coordination skills.
  5. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  6. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  7. Knowledge of furniture vendors, suppliers, and commercial furniture systems.
  8. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Desirable Qualifications:

  1. Degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
  2. Certification in furniture specification or space planning (e.g., BIFMA standards knowledge).
  3. Experience working within a design & build or commercial interiors firm.
