Bowral, New South Wales, Australia Beaumont People Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Frensham Schools is seeking a Director of Development to lead their next phase of growth in fundraising, philanthropy, and community connection.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Frensham Schools, you will lead the strategic development and delivery of fundraising initiatives aligned with Frensham Schools' long-term vision. You will develop and mentor a high-performing team, cultivate meaningful relationships, and unlock new opportunities to support the future of Frensham Schools.

This is more than a leadership role. It is about building relationships – not transactions – and is a chance to become an integral part of the Frensham Schools community, where collaboration, authenticity, and shared purpose are at the heart of everything they do.

In this pivotal leadership role you will:

  • Develop a compelling Case for Support and execute a strategic fundraising roadmap across bursaries, endowment and capital building funds
  • Build and lead a team of dedicated philanthropy professionals
  • Cultivate high-trust relationships with donors, ensuring discretion and respect for privacy
  • Engage with Old Girls, parents of former students, and other members of the Frensham Schools community to grow philanthropic support
  • Collaborate with the Foundation Board, Alumni, and Marketing & Engagement Team
  • Leverage digital platforms and data insights to inform donor engagement
  • Effectively manage budgets and report on all fundraising activities

Who You Are

You are a strategic, inspiring leader with a passion for philanthropy and community engagement with a proven track record in fundraising leadership. You thrive in environments where relationships matter and purpose drives performance.

What you'll bring

  • Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Financial literacy with confidence to discuss endowments, investments, and philanthropic structures
  • Experience in education, philanthropy, or the not-for-profit sector
  • A deep understanding of relationship-first stewardship best practice
  • Experience within high-performing teams with a culture of collaboration
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen and technical expertise in fundraising systems and analytics
  • High emotional intelligence, discretion and authenticity
  • A genuine alignment with the vision, mission, and values of Frensham Schools

You are driven by purpose, not a formula and you believe in the power of independent education, and especially the enduring impact of an all-girls education.

Why Frensham Schools?

Frensham Schools is a place where people matter. Our community is built on trust and a shared commitment to the unselfish pursuit of excellence. As Director of Development, you will be welcomed into a culture that values integrity, innovation, and impact, where your contribution will shape the future of Frensham Schools and its legacy.
