As Producer (Mainstage), you'll collaborate with artistic and progamming personnel, artists and creatives, to support Queensland Theatre Company productions from development through to performance on stage.

We're searching for an imaginative and organised Producer to join our Programming team. This role combines creative collaboration with strong producing and organisational skills to contribute to the coordination and delivery of Queensland Theatre productions

Role snapshot

The Producer (Mainstage) is a member of the Programming team responsible for the delivery of Queensland Theatre Company's annual artistic program which includes the annual season of productions, First Nations theatre program, education and young people programs and development of new works. The role is responsible for overseeing the (mainstage) production process from concept to final performance and requires someone with:

  • an understanding of the lifecycle of work and how stories move from idea to play and from development through to production; and
  • strong communication skills with an ability to recognise diverse needs and expectations.

This is a full-time position. It requires flexibility given the nature of the position and its responsibilities and the sector in which we operate, and operational demands, including some reasonable additional hours at performances/season productions and, from time to time.

This role is suited to someone who is highly motivated, is able to manage the requirements of a diverse operational environment and who will enjoy being involved in theatre making and the arts.

This role is based at Queensland Theatre office, South Brisbane.

Who we are looking for – selection criteria

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:-

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in theatre or event producing, with a strong understanding of all aspects of the production process.
  • Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Strong financial acumen and the ability to manage budgets effectively.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to engage with diverse stakeholders
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
