HR Generalist – Hands-On Hybrid Role

About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager – Corporate and Service Delivery, the HR Generalist provides hands-on support across all areas of human resources, training, and compliance. The role manages the full employee lifecycle — including recruitment, onboarding, record management, and workforce compliance — ensuring every process meets legislative requirements and aligns with Hope and Change's professional and ethical standards.
The HR Generalist is suited to a capable and organised professional who thrives on structure, is confident managing competing priorities, and takes pride in maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and high standards of practice.
Hope and Change is led by professionals with strong clinical, corporate, and governance expertise across hospital, aged care, and community sectors. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full employee lifecycle — recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and offboarding
- Maintain employee records and certifications to meet NDIS and Award requirements
- Coordinate mandatory and ongoing training, ensuring compliance and capability development
- Monitor workforce compliance and report on expiring documentation or training gaps
- Manage Employment Hero workflows and data accuracy across HR and payroll
- Liaise with finance and payroll (Xero) for data alignment and reporting accuracy
- Support HR policy development, performance processes, and internal improvement projects
- Assist the General Manager with workforce reporting, HR projects, and governance tasks
About You
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a hands-on HR generalist or HR operations role
- Solid understanding of Fair Work compliance and Award frameworks (SCHADS, Nurses, Clerks)
- Demonstrated experience using Employment Hero (HR and Payroll modules)
- Strong organisational and communication skills with attention to detail
- Demonstrated capacity to manage competing priorities and deliver accurate outcomes
- Professional, ethical, and confident in handling confidential or sensitive information
Highly Regarded:
- Experience with Xero and Visual Care (or similar client management systems)
- Background in the disability, aged care, or other regulated care sectors
