Senior Automation Engineer – Mobile (iOS/Android)

Location:
Melbourne (Hybrid, 3 days onsite)

About the role

CloudMarc is seeking a hands-on Senior Automation Engineer to lead mobile test automation for native iOS/Android apps across a tier-1 enterprise environment. You'll set the strategy, build/maintain frameworks, integrate into CI/CD, and uplift quality practices across squads.

What you'll do

  • Own the mobile test automation strategy and roadmap for native apps.
  • Build and maintain reliable frameworks (functional, regression, smoke) for iOS/Android.
  • Integrate suites into CI/CD (quality gates, artefacts, reporting, traceability).
  • Drive shift-left practices, API + contract tests, and data management.
  • Champion defect prevention, observability, and release readiness.
  • Mentor engineers; collaborate with Product, Dev, and DevOps.

Must-have skills

  • 5–8+ years in QA/QE with 3+ years in mobile automation.
  • Appium with Java or TypeScript; familiarity with XCUITest and/or Espresso.
  • API test automation (Postman/RestAssured/Playwright API).
  • CI/CD experience (Azure DevOps, GitLab or Jenkins).
  • Device farms (BrowserStack/Sauce Labs) and parallel execution.
  • Strong Agile delivery, Jira/Confluence, defect lifecycle ownership.

Nice to have

  • Playwright (web) for end-to-end journeys across mobile + web.
  • Experience with Salesforce mobile/responsive journeys.
  • Performance basics (network throttling, vitals) and security hygiene.
  • Exposure to feature flags, release trains, and blue/green deployments.
  • Ability to read Swift/Kotlin and collaborate closely with mobile devs.
