We are looking for a part timechef to join our team

Who are we?

The Banksia tree cafe and restaurant is a 55 seater brunch cafe in heart of Port Adelaide. We have a strong focus on ethical practices and cook over a red gum fire.

Why work for us?

Work life balance is super important to us, We have a great head chef and fantastic venue manager but we need some help to make sure everything is running smooth. We are very busy on the weekends and have a great team but we are growing

Great rate of pay and working with awesome suppliers and product.

What experience should I have?

Preferred experience would be someone with experience working on a wood fire and in a cafe setting producing quality dishes in a fast paced atmosphere.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Kitchen Operations

  • Complete all prep in a timely manner, following all recipes and making sure products are labeled and placed in the correct place.
  • Set up workstations for success and maintain a clean and tidy environment
  • Ensure compliance with food handling & sanitation standards including following proper handling & temperature of all food products.
  • Ensure opening & closing procedures are done to a high standard.

People Skills

  • Displaying a willingness to participate as a team and help in any area that may be required (grill/pans/dishes/food running/prep)
  • Treating all front of house and back of house with equal respect and kindness.
  • Accepting responsibility for actions if mistakes are made.
  • Ensure you have received the proper training before operating new equipment or creating new recipes.

Customer Service & Experience

  • Provide customers with an excellent dining experience by consistently providing an excellent product.
  • Ensure all customers are served in a timely manner for receiving their food.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Bill times (variable per product) do not exceed 15 mins mon-fri and 25 mins on weekends.
  • Positive reviews from Head chef and Venue manager.
