Casual Chef – Event-Based Role in Port Adelaide

Located in the heart of historic Port Adelaide—just 15 minutes from the Adelaide CBD— Krystal Function Centre is a luxurious, family-owned venue known for delivering exceptional food and service. With a strong reputation and a busy events calendar, we're looking for a Casual Chef to join our kitchen team during our peak event season.


About the Role

This hands-on role is perfect for a chef who thrives in a fast-paced, structured environment. You'll be responsible for delivering high-quality meals to our event guests, working either solo or with kitchen support depending on the size of the event.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Setting up the kitchen before each event
  • Preparing food according to a set menu (steak, lamb, chicken, seafood, etc.)
  • Following recipes precisely, including dietary and allergen requirements
  • Cooking and plating during event service
  • Maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment

When You'll Work

We are currently hiring for event prep and service on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Please note: availability on these days is essential.


What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience as a chef in catering or event-style cooking
  • Ability to follow set menus and recipes
  • Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergens
  • Ability to work independently or with a small team
  • A current Food Safety Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Flexibility and availability on key event days
