About the role

Keystone Building Solutions Australia Pty Ltd is seeking a driven and ambitious Construction Cadet to join our dynamic team in Sydney, NSW. We are searching for a current 2nd or 3rd year university student studying a Bachelor of Construction Management or similar Design, Building and Engineering Course. This part-time position will be flexible with your university and exam days which change every semester and offers the opportunity to develop your skills in the exciting world of construction project management, with a focus on remedial works.

As a Remedial Construction Cadet, you will play a key role in supporting our experienced project managers in delivering high-quality construction projects that meet the needs of our clients and assisting our estimating team provide accurate quotes and tenders to a range of clients.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting project managers in the planning, scheduling, and coordination of remedial construction projects
  • Assisting the estimating team both onsite with inspections, investigations and tender meetings and in the office putting together professional quotes, tenders and reports.
  • Supporting the procurement of materials and subcontractors, and managing vendor relationships
  • Participating in project team meetings and providing updates on project status and issues
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of project management processes and procedures

What we're looking for

  • A Current 2nd or 3rd year University student studying a Bachelor of Construction Management or similar Design, Building and Engineering Course. A university transcript will be required.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in the construction industry, with a focus on remedial works
  • Current coursework or study in construction-related field meets the demonstrated interest requirement for this position
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders
  • Proficiency in using project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera
  • A commitment to safety, quality, and environmental sustainability
  • A white card and valid Australian Drivers License required
  • Willingness to learn and continuously develop your skills and knowledge
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position
