Casual Bookkeeper – 16 hrs/week – Remote

HSB Resources is a Brisbane-based safety consulting and resourcing business, providing HSE and operational support to clients across oil & gas, construction, and related industries. We're looking for an experienced, detail-focused, and self-motivated Casual Bookkeeper to join our team, working approximately 16 hours per week. This is a remote role, offering flexibility while playing a key part in keeping our finances running smoothly. We're seeking someone who is solutions-focused, able to identify opportunities for improvement, and confident in making suggestions to help us work smarter and more efficiently.

What you'll be doing:

  • Processing payroll for employees and contractors
  • Managing accounts payable/receivable, including invoice preparation, reconciliation, and contractor payments
  • Accessing client systems (e.g. SAP, GEP) to prepare and submit financial data
  • Reviewing and finalising invoices prepared by our operations team, ensuring accuracy against project milestones
  • Verifying timesheets and expenses before final reconciliation
  • Preparing financial reports to track business cash flow
  • Performing account reconciliations and supporting BAS preparation
  • Ensuring compliance with client-specific payment terms

What you'll bring:

  • Extensive experience with Xero (essential)
  • At least 3 years' bookkeeping experience
  • Solid understanding of payroll, invoicing, reconciliation, and accounts management
  • Experience with cloud-based tools such as , SAP, and GEP (preferred)
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently
  • Strong communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
  • BAS preparation experience (preferred)
