How you will contribute

We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor to join our Valmont Coatings division in Prospect Vale on a full-time permanent basis. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading the safety, quality and production of operations for all areas within the galvanizing plant.

Your key responsibilities will include;

• Lead the production schedule to meet DIFOT KPIs, customer turnaround times, and ensure efficient throughput while minimizing downtime through proactive maintenance coordination.
• Manage production process control, including sampling, analysis, and adjustments. Oversee galvanizing quality to minimize post-process dressing and ensure QA systems compliance through operator training.
• Coordinate with Operations, Sales, and Customer Service teams to meet customer delivery, quality, and design expectations.
• Enforce safe work practices, investigate incidents and near-misses, and ensure all safety and environmental events are reported in the business system.
• Support operator performance management, timekeeping, and conduct disciplinary actions where needed. Train staff in quality and safety procedures.
• Ensure routine tasks such as bath monitoring, production recording, and schedule adherence are executed accurately and consistently.
• Monitor labor and consumable usage, recommending cost-saving initiatives and ensuring waste is minimized.
• Act as interim Operations Manager when required, maintaining safety and production continuity.

About you

• Proven proactive leadership with the ability to lead teams to strong results
• Practical understanding of manufacturing processes; galvanizing experience highly regarded
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport across all business levels
• Effective time management and ability to handle conflicting priorities
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement and efficiency
• Knowledge of safety, quality, and environmental compliance in industrial settings
