State Sales Manager– Food Processing & Packaging Equipment

capital equipment, consumables and processing solutions
to the food manufacturing sector. For over 35 years, they have partnered with global manufacturers while also producing their own Australian-made systems that are now seen as gold-standard in the industry.
Their customers include medium-to-enterprise
food processors, manufacturers and packaging operations
across meat, poultry, seafood, bakery, dairy, beverage, ready-meals and industrial food production. Product portfolio includes:
- Packaging Solutions:
heat sealers, vacuum sealing systems, pallet wrappers, strapping machines, films, shrink wrap, tapes, ties, food-grade adhesives, fastening tools - Food Processing Equipment:
smoke ovens, dry ageing cabinets, vacuum packers, mincers, slicers, knives, sharpening systems, hand tools, combi ovens - Consumables & Hygiene:
food-safe consumables, industrial knives, PPE, cleaning systems and production supplies

The Opportunity
Due to strong national growth, the business is appointing a
State Sales Manager – Queensland
(no direct reports initially). This role will take ownership of the QLD market, managing key accounts while developing new business across packaging machinery, food processing equipment and consumables. This is ideal for a commercially mature salesperson ready to operate autonomously while influencing state-level strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow key national and state-based accounts, increasing equipment, consumables and service contract revenue.
- Develop and execute the QLD sales plan aligned to national goals, pricing and margin expectations.
- Identify and convert new business with food manufacturers, processors and production facilities.
- Build strong relationships with production managers, engineers, maintenance teams, procurement and business owners.
- Track market and customer activity—CapEx cycles, automation upgrades, compliance requirements, industry demand trends.
- Work with marketing to execute targeted campaigns, product launches, equipment demonstrations and trade events.
- Build and maintain a 6–12 month pipeline across machinery projects, leasing proposals and consumable supply agreements.
- Provide accurate sales reporting, forecasts and market feedback to senior leadership.
Ideal Candidate
We are seeking candidates with proven B2B sales experience who have previously sold to
food processors, manufacturers or industrial production environments
.
You may come from backgrounds such as:
- Packaging machinery (vacuum sealers, strapping, wrapping, thermoforming etc.)
- Food processing equipment (smokehouses, mincers, slicers, ovens, vacuum packers)
- Industrial consumables (films, packaging materials, hygiene supplies, PPE, knives and cutting tools)
- Automation, capital equipment or production solutions sold into meat, poultry, bakery, dairy, beverage or ready-meal facilities
You will also demonstrate:
- Strong commercial acumen—CapEx negotiation, ROI modelling, sales forecasting
- Experience managing long sales cycles alongside high-volume repeat consumables
- Ability to work autonomously from home while maintaining high-level reporting and accountability
- Motivated, structured and goal-driven approach to territory growth
