Senior Contracts Administrator

Downer is seeking a Senior Contracts Administrator to join its team on a Fixed Term 12-month basis.

About the Role

Reporting to the Commercial Director, a Senior Contracts Administrator is required on a 12-month basis for Downer's Industrial and Power Generation Project Team, under the Energy & Utilities business unit. The Senior Contracts Administrator is responsible for the efficient and effective management of project related commercial and contractual matters within the Business Unit. This includes the active day-to-day administration of upstream and downstream contracts with respect to the relevant projects. The successful candidate can envision themselves attending to duties such as:

• Working closely with the Senior Commercial Managers and Operational Leads to deliver the primary objectives
• Supporting the projects in carrying out the day to day upstream and downstream commercial management, contract administration, payment claims as assigned by the Commercial Director, in consultation with the Senior Commercial Manager
• Development of commercial and risk management strategies, contract manuals, plans, registers, process flowcharts and templates for accurate and effective management of Downer's rights and obligations under the head contract
• Manage commercial/contractual correspondence, claims, etc, with clients and contractors
• Implement the project risk management plan, including project risk register and effective risk treatment plans
• Actively participate in any lessons learnt workshop required for the Project

About You

• Minimum Bachelor of Business, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or Law, or recognised prior industry learning suitable for the role
• Understand contract terms and conditions; variations approvals and recovery of claims are executed in accordance with the requirements of the contract and company policy frameworks
• Ability to attend to site visits on ad hoc basis
• Awareness of project management, contract management, risk management and financial management principles utilised in the management of the project
• Excellent commercial management skills including interpreting and applying contract terms and legislation provisions
• Displays a continuous improvement mindset - has a continuous improvement attitude, always looking for ways to improve on current processes and performance
