About the role

ReachOut is in an exciting phase of the organisation's development. We are in the early stages of a new and innovative three-year strategy that will help shape the future of youth digital mental health services in Australia.

People & Culture are playing a strategic role, enabling the organisation-wide transformation. To maintain a high employee experience through this change, the team now requires some temporary resourcing to continue delivering our core People Programs.

As the People Program Lead, it is your role to ensure we support our people to do their best work in an environment where they are engaged and set up for success from Day 1. ReachOut is a values-aligned, purpose-led organisation, and your people practices should reflect this. This is a hands-on individual contributor role, reporting to the Head of People, Culture & Operations, with responsibility for owning and delivering end-to-end programs.

You will bring initiative and self-direction to tasks and projects, balancing independence with strong partnership across the organisation.

This role adds value to ReachOut by:

Key tasks

  • Talent Management:
    Operational management of the recruitment pipeline, including job description design support, advertisement and marketing, liaison and management of external agencies, candidate section and interview process management in compliance with ReachOut policy.
  • Employee Engagement:
    Lead the rollout and evaluation of the annual Culture Survey, analyse and theme results, and partner with leaders to develop actionable recommendations.
  • Recruitment:
    Managing the recruitment of key roles.
  • Performance and Development:
    Lead the annual My Impact program – ReachOut's approach to performance, development, and goal setting.
  • Compliance & Risk Framework:
    Support RO through policy development and updates, compliance training, and WHS initiatives.
  • Support the People & Culture Roadmap
    with generalist work where required.

Selection Criteria

To be effective in the role you will:

  • Be passionate about creating and delivering a first-class people experience.
  • Be values-led and understand the importance of embedding this in the way programs are designed and delivered.
  • Bring confidence in working with HR systems (experience with
    Culture Amp
    is essential; experience with
    Employment Hero
    and
    Go1
    is desirable).
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
  • Build positive relationships through effective stakeholder engagement, collaboration, and customer service.
  • Have prior recruitment experience.
  • Exercise sound judgment and discretion to identify appropriate actions and solutions.
  • Work independently and be self-directed across tasks & projects
  • Work collaboratively with a focus on both team success and high-quality outcomes.
  • Have 5+ years' experience in a people programs role, with demonstrated end-to-end involvement.
