IT Support Technician (Microsoft / AWS / EDR / Web Hosting)

Location:

Remote Based in India (working hours aligned to Melbourne, Australia time zone)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Level 2–3 IT Technician to provide high-quality technical support and infrastructure management for our clients operating primarily in the Australian time zone. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Microsoft environments, AWS cloud, endpoint protection (EDR), CrashPlan backups, and domain & website hosting.

This role requires a proactive professional who can troubleshoot complex issues, maintain system uptime, and ensure seamless IT operations while working remotely in coordination with the Australian team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Level 2 and Level 3 technical support across Windows, macOS, and cloud environments.
  • Manage and troubleshoot Microsoft 365, Azure AD, and Windows Server environments.
  • Administer and maintain AWS EC2 instances, S3 storage, IAM policies, and backup configurations.
  • Monitor, configure, and respond to alerts from EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) tools.
  • Manage CrashPlan backup configurations and ensure backup integrity and restorations when required.
  • Configure and maintain domain DNS records, renewals, SSL certificates, and basic website hosting environments (e.g., cPanel, Plesk, or AWS Lightsail).
  • Perform regular system updates, patch management, and security hardening.
  • Coordinate escalations to vendors or higher-level engineers where required.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, configurations, and standard operating procedures.
  • Provide timely support via remote tools, email, or chat to end-users and business systems.

Technical Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • 4–6 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or infrastructure operations.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2016–2022, and Active Directory.
  • Experience managing Microsoft 365 (Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune).
  • Hands-on experience with AWS EC2, S3, IAM, and VPC configurations.
  • Proficiency in EDR platforms (e.g., SentinelOne, CrowdStrike, Sophos, Defender for Endpoint).
  • Experience with CrashPlan or other cloud backup tools.
  • Good understanding of DNS, domain management, and basic web hosting setup.
  • Familiarity with remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools.
  • Scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, or Python) for automation tasks is a plus.

Desirable:

  • Exposure to Azure infrastructure, virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V), and network troubleshooting.
  • Experience supporting small-to-medium business clients or MSP environments.
  • Relevant certifications such as MCSA, Microsoft 365 Certified, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or CompTIA Security+.

Work Schedule:

  • Working hours: 5:00 AM – 2:00 PM IST (aligned with Melbourne business hours)
  • Days: Monday to Friday
