We're on the lookout for an Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team — someone who's ready to roll up their sleeves, learn from experienced professionals, and make a real contribution from day one.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll play an important role in supporting the Finance and Administration team across a range of accounting and reporting activities, including:

  • Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance
  • Supporting accounts payable/receivable and supplier payments
  • Helping prepare BAS, PAYG and other statutory returns
  • Reconciling balance sheet accounts and maintaining accurate records
  • Supporting payroll processing and compliance
  • Assisting with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Liaising with internal departments and external auditors
  • Managing the complete accounting cycle including month-end and year-end procedures

You'll also pitch in with ad-hoc finance tasks, provide reception relief when needed, and support the Finance and Administration Manager and Financial Controller as part of a collaborative, professional team.

What You'll Bring
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1–3 years' experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role
  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Experience with MYOB, Sage 300, IFS, or similar accounting software
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Confident communicator with strong interpersonal skills
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must have Australian work rights for this position

Bonus points if you have:

  • Progress toward CPA or CA qualification
  • Experience preparing BAS statements or supporting audits
  • Familiarity with ERP or financial reporting tools
