About the Role

The Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of food processing, packaging, and bakery equipment across various client sites. This role ensures equipment operates efficiently and safely, minimizing downtime and supporting continuous production. The Technician will troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues, performing both scheduled servicing and urgent repairs. The Technician will work closely with clients and internal teams to deliver high-quality technical support and customer service. The position requires regular travel, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to food safety and equipment compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Work closely with the customer and internal sales and project teams to commission installations.
  • Carry out machine installations, including conducting tests to ensure that machine is fully operational according to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Carry out repairs and service to equipment at the customer's request.
  • Responsible for performing regular preventative maintenance in accordance with the service contract.
  • Work within the constraints of customer health and safety protocols.
  • Ensure that all spares and components used conform to manufacturer's specifications.

Qualification, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Hold a Restricted Electrical Worker's Licence or Electrician's licence (A Grade) and Drivers Licence.
  • 2+ years' experience working autonomously as a Field Service Technician/Engineer across various sites.
  • Preferred experience in working with food processing, packaging, and/ or bakery equipment.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Be comfortable dealing with mechanical equipment, including fault-finding and repair.
  • Problem-solving, solution focused approach.
