Shire Council is seeking a Communications and Engagement Officer to join our
Customer and Communications team. This flexible part-time role is perfect for
someone looking to balance meaningful work with family or other commitments.
About
the Role
Working
under the supervision of the Communications and Engagement Advisor, you will
support the delivery of Council's communication and engagement activities
across traditional and digital platforms. Your responsibilities will include:
- Drafting media releases, website updates, and social media
content. - Assisting with the planning and delivery of community engagement
initiatives and Council's online engagement tool, Your Wellington Your Say. - Supporting internal and external communication/engagement plans to
ensure key messages are clear and consistent. - Helping to maintain Council's brand and reputation through quality
content and engagement.
About
You
To
be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent
attention to detail. - Experience or interest in communications, public relations, or
community engagement. - Strong planning, organisation, and time management skills.
- Confidence using digital platforms (experience with digital
engagement/survey tools and Canva/Adobe Creative Cloud an advantage). - A collaborative, team-focused approach.
