About You and the Role:
The role has three focusses;
- Management of a mixed portfolio of long tail claims,
- Assistance with oversight of various arrangements where claims management is external and
- Reporting associated with role
What you will be doing:
- Proactive management of a mixed portfolio of long tail claims in such a way as to position the portfolio to meet its financial targets and regulatory obligations.
- Undertake all administrative tasks associated with the long tail portfolio, such as updating claims management systems, payment requisitions and approvals, documenting above authority referrals and recommendations.
- Instructing Legal Service Providers in such a way that they understand and execute Enstar's claims management philosophy,
- Identify and action all possible recovery opportunities to minimise Enstar's net claims exposure, this may be achieved via reinsurance, dual insurance, third party recoveries or joinder of other defendants.
- Submit, or assist with the submission of some of Enstar's reporting requirements, for example Monthly incurred reports, Monthly CTP (PIR) Uploads, Quarterly CTP Clearing House, Quarterly Builders Warranty submissions.
- Assist with the remote oversight of ADC and LPT's, which requires an ability to remotely provide oversight to a non-managed portfolio through a combination of data analysis and targeted file reviews.
- Assist with conducting due diligence of future business opportunities.
What you will bring:
- Strong understanding of APRA/ASIC/SIRA claims handling obligations
- Substantial experience across several lines of long tail insurance, including statutory classes such as workers compensation or CTP, in addition to underwritten classes such as public liability or professional indemnity.
- Some experience reading and manipulating open claims portfolio reports.
- Experience interpreting policy wordings.
- To excel in this role, you will have substantial experience across a number of long tail insurance claim lines, which will be predominately bodily injury.
- Your substantial experience will assist you to identify strategies to limit Enstar's net exposure.
- In addition, your experience will allow you to identify potential claims trends in a portfolio report that would prompt you to target particular files for review to determine whether there may be any impact to the ADC or LPT.
- You will feel comfortable creating and submitting basic portfolio reports.
- You will have the confidence to effectively manage claims within your delegated authority, with documented support and rationale for determining the decision
