We are seeking a Software Delivery Manager to join our team, with a flexible work arrangement that includes both remote work and time at our Brisbane CBD office. (5 days per fortnight are in the office and 5 days per fortnight are working from home)

Your new role

As our new Software Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for hands-on software development and professional and timely delivery management for software development activities within Shortcuts Software. We are after someone who is passionate about technology, and curious about the application of new technologies to improve customer outcomes.

Duties and responsibilities:

Delivery Management (40%)

• Coordinate delivery for software development features and enhancements.
• Develop lightweight delivery plans and monitor progress.
• Track and communicate progress to stakeholders, on targets and timelines.
• Monitor defects and trends and remove roadblocks for the development team.
• Escalation point for technical and delivery issues.
• Support release rollouts, working with other teams for smooth deployments.
• Identify process improvement opportunities within the development workflow.
• Team management and development.
• Coach and mentor team members on both technical and delivery aspects.
• Monitor vendor relationships related to development tools and services.
• Identify and manage risk with regards privacy and security of customer data.

Software Development (60%)

• Design, develop, and implement software solutions, features, enhancements.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior developers.
• Participate in architectural decisions and technical design discussions.
• Debug complex issues and optimize application performance.
• Implement automated testing and contribute to CI/CD pipeline improvements.
• Understand emerging technologies and recommend new tools and frameworks.
• Understand requirements and provide technical feasibility assessments.
• Lead technical spike investigations and proof-of-concept development.
• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing initiatives.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

• 8+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in C#/.NET, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), and modern UI frameworks such as Angular.
• Experience in software architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
• Knowledge of version control, CI/CD, automated testing, agile methodologies.
• Understanding of the full product development lifecycle.
• Previous experience leading or mentoring developers in a team environment.
• Experience coordinating software delivery in a collaborative environment.
• Leadership skills with a positive "can do" mindset.
• Strong technical problem-solving abilities.
• Experience with cross-functional teams including product management and QA.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Analytical skills and attention to detail in code quality and delivery planning.
• Experience with offshore development partners is advantageous
