Role Overview

As the Cafe/Restaurant Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of the venue, ensuring smooth service, excellent customer experience, and operational efficiency. You will manage staff, stock, and budgets while working closely with the kitchen team to maintain high standards across all aspects of the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations, including opening/closing procedures.
  • Lead, train, and motivate front-of-house staff to deliver outstanding customer service.
  • Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure quality, consistency, and timely service.
  • Manage rostering, recruitment, and onboarding of team members.
  • Monitor and maintain stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory control.
  • Oversee cash handling, daily reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health & safety standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies to increase sales and customer satisfaction.
  • Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally.
  • Support marketing initiatives, events, and promotions to grow the business.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience as a Cafe Manager or Restaurant Manager (minimum 2 years).
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid understanding of rostering, budgets, and cost control.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work on weekends and public holidays as required.
