Overview of Position:
The Incident Response Manager oversees the response to critical communications incidents, ensuring efficient and effective resolution. They develop and implement incident response plans, coordinate with various teams, and analyze incident data to identify trends and areas for improvement. They also play a role in preventing future recurrence by implementing best practices and maintaining a strong incident management framework.

Responsibilities:

  • Works closely with Speedcast's end customer and their operations team, to engage all aspects of technical incident response from initiation to conclusion.
  • Assess the nature of the incident and determine what resources would be required within the Speedcast organization to resolve the situation and restore service.
  • Provides IOT Tracking portal Updates/Reporting, Iridium Certus Management/Control and also small form-factor Daily Checks/Escalations
  • Overall accountable to coordinate all efforts to contain and resolve the incident.
  • Ensure timely communication of incidents to stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain incident response plans.
  • Facilitate incident debriefs and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain awareness of current threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Continuously collaborate with the customer to improve the incident response process.

Requirements:

  • Must have previous experience in managing incidents in a critical communications environment.
  • Must be able to work in Hobart, AUS for at least 8 months out of the year (specifically during August - March months) with 1 week a month back in Adelaide if preferred.
  • Available outside regular working hours during scheduled project/ change management events such as refueling, logistics and traversing.
  • Strong organization, tracking, follow-up and analytical skills with the ability to collect, access and report factual data and present logical conclusions.
  • Must be an excellent problem solver and able to accommodate changing priorities and directions.
  • Self-starter: seek out potential issues that aren't readily apparent. Able to effectively manage multiple projects/action items and function with minimal supervision is required.
  • Strong interpersonal/relationship skills with the ability to communicate confidently and effectively with both Customers and Senior Management.
  • Must be focused in delivering world-class services to the customer.
  • ITIL Foundation certification and experience using ServiceNow preferred.

Preferred:

  • Technical or Business-related bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required. Military experience may suffice.
  • Solid understanding and proven track record utilizing standard ITIL methodologies is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Skills is required.
