Comunet is seeking a Cyber Practice Manager to join our Consulting team with a focus on the delivery or complex cyber and risk consulting engagements.

This is a leadership role working alongside other Consulting Practice Managers and is perfect for someone who is experienced in scoping, delivering and managing ongoing client-facing programs of work.

You'll be passionate about driving a secure-by-design mindset across all of our engagements and act as a trusted advisor to both internal and external stakeholders to develop capability within your team and to broaden and expand Comunet's consulting practice.

The role itself focuses on Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) but requires solid understanding and experience in technical and business elements of Cyber including security architecture, technical designs, incident response and cyber culture & awareness.

Although formally reporting to the GM - Client Engagement, you will need to work with various client managers, consulting, services, and development teams to leverage broad skills and resources to develop outcomes that delight clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert-level cyber advice and consulting to clients.
  • Lead engagements across the full range of cyber domains, with a focus on:
  • Governance, Risk Management & Compliance (GRC)
  • DR, BCP and Incident Response Frameworks
  • Cyber Security Culture & Awareness
  • Secure-by-design architecture
  • Cyber Uplift Programs
  • ASD Essential 8
  • Identify, pursue and win new business opportunities in the cyber risk and advisory space.
  • Contribute internally and deliver externally robust Information Security Management Systems (ISMS) aligned with standards such as ISO 27001, ASD Essential 8, ISM, and SACSF.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and strategic direction to a growing team of cyber consultants.
  • Represent Comunet at industry events and with key partners, building strong collaborative relationships.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to work through design and implementation engagements.

Experience & Skills:

  • Leadership and mentoring skills, ideally in for consulting or client-facing role.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing ISMS and security frameworks with a strong preference for ISO 27001 Lead Auditor or Lead Implementer certification.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • Risk assessments, treatments and ongoing management
  • ISM, ISO 27001, ASD E8, SA CSF and related compliance and accreditation processes
  • End-to-end project lifecycle with a focus on secure-by-design
  • Security architecture and ICT integration
  • Proven business development acumen with ability to identify and win opportunities
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage projects, develop proposals and work with various levels of stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and exposure to a wide range of technologies including Cloud, Networking and Applications.
