Careers | NineSquared
NineSquared is an economics and strategy consultancy that uses economics, finance, and strategy to solve complex challenges in business, public policy, and regulations. Our diverse and talented team understands our clients operate in unique and changing environments where decisions are rarely made in complete certainty. We work with you to harness the confidence found in data driven evidence, robust analysis, technical expertise, and deep industry experience.
Our clients are key decision makers with responsibility for making important commercial, policy, and regulatory decisions. We understand this unique context and know the smartest decisions are well informed. Using rigorous data driven economic and financial analysis, we help clients solve the complex challenges they face. NineSquared works across five key areas: economics, financial and commercial advisory, public policy, data science and project and program assurance.
Our team of experienced policy professionals help public sector decision makers make socially responsible and economically sound policy and strategy decisions. With experience of working across jurisdictions, sectors, and all levels of government, we combine our policy team's deep policy experience with the application of data, evidence, and economic and financial/commercial frameworks to develop, analyse and inform existing and proposed policies. We help policy makers develop sound, practical and effective policy. We offer services across policy and strategy development, regulatory impact assessments and policy evaluation and analysis.

Why join us?
Unlike many other consulting firms, our senior staff take a hands-on role in delivery and client engagement throughout the project, not just at the inception meeting. Our projects often involve working in compact teams which gives team members the opportunity to influence our client relationships, market offerings, and future opportunities. All staff levels are engaged in client facing activities, providing a unique opportunity to work with clients.
Our focus on providing high quality outputs and solving client's problems over doing timesheets and unnecessary meetings means that your time will be focused on what makes a difference. We value thought leadership work and are members of the Pledge 1% initiative. This provides opportunities to use our skills and experience to help not for profit organisations.
NineSquared is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
We don't just talk about flexibility for staff – we live it. While this position is based in our Sydney office at 31 Market Street, we have hybrid working policy that allows our employees to balance in-office and working-from-home time. NineSquared supports staff to develop their home offices to ensure everyone is working in a safe and constructive environment. We have had hybrid working with flexible work hours in place since our establishment. Staff are empowered to work where and when they want in consultation with their managers. Many of our senior staff have arrangements to work flexibly around their family requirements.
