About the Role

We are seeking an
Application Specialist
to provide on-going level 2 and 3 support with some software development to support applications and interfaces supporting two mission critical applications.

This role offers hybrid working with Sydney as a preferred location but flexible across east coast of Australia. Australian Citizenship is mandatory. Current or reinstatable AGSVA Baseline Security clearance valued or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

Support of the customer system on 4 environments.

  • System Administration services, including
  • The distribution of data
  • Managing system configuration files
  • Management of data in MS SQL
  • Provide Level 2 and 3 support, interfaces and other associated applications provided by Fujitsu.
  • Timely and efficient resolution of incidents and tasks assigned by customer.
  • Fault resolution and change management to agreed change control procedures and managing the technical aspects of the release and testing processes.
  • On call responsibilities as part of a roster.

Requirements and Experience

Essential

  • Experience working directly with a customer.
  • Ability to learn languages quickly.
  • Experience with MSSQL
  • Demonstrated Experience with a common scripting language
  • Strong support and delivery background.
  • Australian Citizenship is mandatory.

Preferred

  • Software development experience in a corporate development team
  • Experience with the complete SDLC using varying methodologies.
  • Experience with C# .Net Core
  • Current or reinstatable AGSVA Baseline Security clearance or ability to obtain.

Technical Competencies:

  • Strong technical troubleshooting skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Windows server administration
  • Software Development (experience in this area would be highly regarded)
  • Competent with SQL Databases
  • Computer Aided Dispatch experience highly regarded but not necessary

Non-Technical Competencies:

  • Configuration management
  • Business analysis techniques (experience in this area would be highly regarded)
  • Incident and Change management
  • Documentation and source control
  • Time management
  • Understanding of current software design principles, methodologies and technologies. (experience in this area would be highly regarded)
  • Ability to handle stressful situations
  • Ability to adapt to a situation quickly and improvise.
  • Effective communication and client liaison skills
  • Ability to think outside the square to deliver excellence.
  • Ability to work with a development team at pace.
