As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our dynamic team and help support a diverse workforce while navigating complex award interpretations and compliance requirements.
What You Will Be Doing:
As our Payroll Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining strict compliance with legislative and award requirements. You will liaise with employees and stakeholders across the business, assist with process improvement initiatives, and be a key contributor to payroll governance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process end-to-end payroll weekly for approximately 300 employees.
- Interpret and apply relevant Modern Awards, with a strong focus on Banking, Finance & Insurance and Legal Services Awards.
- Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation and industry-specific award requirements.
- Maintain accurate payroll records including leave accruals, superannuation, and taxation obligations.
- Manage employee payroll queries and provide timely, solutions-focused responses.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll-related reports, including STP, PAYG, Superannuation, and Government entitlements.
- Support audits, compliance checks, and continuous improvement of payroll processes.
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, Rosters, and Management to ensure seamless payroll compliance.
- Work with bonus systems and ensure accurate application of incentives and allowances.
- Stay up-to-date with payroll legislation, taxation changes, and regulatory developments.
Skills & Qualifications:
- 2+ years' experience in end-to-end payroll processing.
- Strong knowledge of modern awards and Fair Work award interpretation.
- Experience in government entitlements, taxation applications, and bonus systems.
- Knowledge of FoundU payroll system is advantageous.
- Exceptional attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise confidently with stakeholders.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, process improvement, and compliance management.
