There's never been a better time to be in energy. And there's never been a more exciting time to be at Endeavour Energy.
More than 2.7 million people across New South Wales rely on us every day for the supply of safe and reliable power to their homes and businesses. We employ more than 1,700 people across our catchment, making us one of the largest employers in Sydney's Greater West.
We need talented people who care about one another and the work they do. Why? Because we're one of Australia's fastest growing networks, connecting 20,000 new customers each year, including the Western Sydney Aerotropolis. And when we power together, we go further, faster; towards a smarter, more sustainable future for us all.
About the role
As a key member of our team as a SCADA Engineer, you will play a crucial role in configuring, commissioning, and providing essential support for the SCADA system. Reporting to a Senior Automation Engineer, your responsibilities will be instrumental in ensuring the effective control and monitoring of the Endeavour Energy electrical network. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to our innovative projects, collaborate with a skilled team, and make a significant impact on the reliability and efficiency of our electrical infrastructure.
On offer here is:
- Drive impactful changes in one of Australia's leading energy distributors by designing and implementing innovative solutions for a secure, reliable, and resilient network.
- Be directly involved in advancing our decarbonisation strategy by contributing to innovative projects like micro-grids, community batteries, and renewable energy zones.
- A great opportunity to either kick-start your career and build a foundation or continue growing within the power industry, with opportunities for both entry-level and experienced professionals.
- Work with cutting-edge systems and collaborate with a team who will support your technical and professional development.
- A culture centred around collaborative problem-solving, prioritising personal wellbeing, providing work/life balance flexibility, and recognising and rewarding your contributions.
- An organisation-wide commitment to investing in both people and technology, aligning with future business strategies, innovations, and initiatives.
Key Accountabilities
- Design, configure, commission, and maintain SCADA systems — including Master Station, RTU databases, and user interfaces — to ensure reliable network monitoring and control.
- Manage telemetry and control integration between Endeavour Energy's SCADA and ADMS systems.
- Develop and implement network automation routines and control logic to meet operational and business needs.
- Ensure meticulous documentation compliance, especially pertaining to SCADA project and design documentation, and the implementation of network automation software routines.
- Offer SCADA support, especially during network emergencies, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the electrical network, with a commitment to rostered after-hours support.
- Liaise with internal teams and external partners to resolve issues and support project delivery.
- High-level administration of SCADA systems including servers, operating systems, and application software.
- Provide advice on SCADA requirements for projects and network automation software routines.
- Offer engineering input to project design, policy, and process development.
- Contribute to new technology pilots, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain high standards of safety, quality, and reliability in design, review, and commissioning activities.
- Deliver advanced technical support and resolve complex cross-functional technical challenges.
About you
Whether you're building your SCADA expertise or bringing years of experience to the table, you'll share our drive for curiosity, initiative, and collaboration. You're a dynamic and positive individual who thrives in a technically challenging environment that encourages innovative problem-solving. Your proactive approach, professional demeanour, and commitment to teamwork will make you a valued contributor to our success.
