Agonis Group is a trusted partner in infrastructure, utilities, and construction, known for delivering strategic, future-focused solutions across Australia. We are seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Head of Finance to join our executive team on a fixed-term basis, covering maternity leave.

About the Role

As Head of Finance, you will lead the financial strategy, governance, and performance of Agonis Group during a critical period of growth and national delivery. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee financial operations, compliance, and reporting, while providing strategic insight to support executive decision-making and business development.

Key Responsibilities


• Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting across all business units


• Oversee statutory reporting, tax compliance, and audit coordination


• Provide commercial analysis and strategic advice to the executive team


• Manage cash flow, capital expenditure, and risk mitigation strategies


• Support contract reviews, pricing models, and tender submissions


• Lead and mentor a high-performing finance team

About You

You are a collaborative and strategic finance leader with a strong understanding of infrastructure, construction, or professional services environments. You bring sound judgement, commercial acumen, and a proactive approach to governance and growth.

Essential Criteria

  • Is CA or CPA qualified, with deep expertise in financial control and reporting
  • Has experience in public practice or similar roles within high-growth or SME environments
  • Is eager to step into a broader leadership role and take full ownership of finance operations
  • Has hands-on experience with Netsuite (highly regarded)
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and enjoys cross-functional collaboration
