About Us:

New Murchison Gold Limited (ASX:NMG) is a mineral exploration and development company which holds tenements in the Murchison goldfield, Western Australia. NMG has recently commenced mining at its flagship Crown Prince Gold Project.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Accountant to join us on a full-time, 12-month contract to cover maternity leave, with a genuine opportunity to transition into a permanent role. Based at our West Perth office, this position is available for an immediate start.

Australian citizenship or permanent residency is required for this position.

Key Accountabilities

  • Month end journals and all reconciliations across the Group including cost allocations to relevant cost centres
  • BAS including fuel tax credit
  • Bank reconciliations; payments (in conjunction with part-time A/P officer)
  • Assist with preparation of management accounts including analysis
  • Assist with preparation of budget and forecast
  • Attend to audit queries
  • Maintain PP&E registers including depreciation journals
  • Work with A/P Officer to ensure all invoices are entered correctly
  • Raise purchase orders; keep track of POs, liaise with responsible persons and close out POs as required.
  • Maintain lease schedules and appropriate journals
  • Tenements – updating Form 5 expenditure
  • Fuel orders and liaising with site regarding stock levels.

What we're looking for:

  • CA / CPA or working towards with solid knowledge of relevant accounting standards
  • Minimum 5 years previous accounting experience, ideally in the mining industry, or in audit with exposure to mineral resources
  • Strong month-end reconciliation experience with confidence owning the GL end-to-end
  • Proficiency in MYOB Advanced / Acumatica or other ERP system such as Pronto or SAP (highly regarded)
  • Advanced MS Office skills, specifically Excel (essential)
