About the role:

We're currently seeking multiple contract Financial Accountant positions (initial terms of 6 months or 12 months) based in Perth and the inner suburbs.

As a Financial Accountant, you'll deliver accurate financial reporting and analysis, maintain general ledger integrity, and support month-end and year-end close processes. You'll prepare statutory and management reports while helping improve financial systems and processes across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and execute the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial statements, management reports and variance analysis for senior stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB/IFRS), taxation obligations (e.g., BAS/FBT) and other regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate and support external audits, preparing audit schedules, responding to audit queries and liaising with external auditors.
  • Maintain and improve general ledger controls, financial processes and reporting systems to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Work closely with business units and finance stakeholders to provide insights, support forecasting/budgeting, and deliver actionable financial commentary.
  • Provide ad-hoc financial accounting support and projects as required within the contract term.

About You

  • You hold a tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance or Commerce and ideally are qualified (or working towards a qualification) with CPA Australia or Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (or equivalent).
  • You have demonstrable experience (typically 3+ years) in a financial accounting role, covering month-end, year-end, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver accurate work under tight deadlines.
  • Good communication skills — able to engage with both finance and non‐finance stakeholders.
  • Experience working with accounting systems/ERPs and advanced Microsoft Excel capability.
  • Full working rights in Australia and available to commit to a 6- or 12-month contract - working holiday visas welcome to apply for 6-month contracts.
  • Bonus (but not essential): Experience with multi-entity reporting or consolidation, technical accounting issues (leases, impairments, etc.), or exposure to management reporting environments.
