Fire Service Technician – Sprinkler Fitter

Are you a qualified tradesperson passionate about fire protection and safety? We're looking for a Sprinkler Fitter to join our dedicated Fire Services team. This hands-on role involves installing, testing, maintaining, and repairing fire protection systems, including complex setups such as sprinkler systems, hydrants, special hazards, pumps and hose reels, all in compliance with Australian Standards.

About the Role

Reporting to the Service Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Inspecting, repairing and maintaining fire protection apparatus, pipes, and fittings.
  • Inspecting tanks, valves, water supplies, pumps, gauges, and alarms.
  • Inspecting, testing, and maintaining fire protection systems in line with relevant Australian Standards, including AS 1851 (maintenance of fire protection systems) and AS 2419 (fire hydrant systems).
  • Supporting apprentices through mentoring and on-the-job training.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety standards, company policies and regulatory requirements.

What We're Looking For

  • Completion of a plumbing trades apprenticeship and registration with the Victorian Building Authority (VBA).
  • EAHL Licence (desirable)
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in testing and compliance to Australian Standards.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Flexibility, resilience, energy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a methodical approach to work.
