The Opportunity
CliniKids is The Kids Research Institute Australia's first team integrating their world-class research with a clinical service. The CliniKids team is made up of experienced clinicians working alongside world-class researchers to put research into practice, working in facilities that are custom made for neurodiverse families.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a new Research Development Manager to drive strategic growth, funding, and partnerships for our COMPASS program - a Western Australia based national initiative supporting autistic children and their families through personalised navigation and support. This role will focus on expanding the program's reach, securing sustainable funding, and positioning COMPASS for national and international impact.
Through collaboration with our wider CliniKids team, your duties in this role will include but not be limited to:
- Identifying opportunities to expand COMPASS nationally and internationally.
- Managing and developing partnerships with government, philanthropic organisations, professional bodies, and community stakeholders to co-develop initiatives and amplify program impact.
- Identifying grant opportunities and philanthropic engagement.
- Exploring scalable solutions for the Program such as training, accreditation, digital platforms, and assessment tools.
Conveniently located at our CliniKids site in Subiaco, this position will be offered on a full-time basis for a period of 2-years in the first instance, with the possibility of extension. Remote work may be considered for the right applicant.
About You
The successful candidate will hold a tertiary qualification or research development experience in the disability sector, and will possess the following:
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and work effectively in a complex and changing environment.
- Experience in strategic planning, and the development and delivery on new processes and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to identify opportunities for research funding and to support and coordinate the preparation of applications.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships.
At The Kids Research Institute Australia, we are committed to building a workplace culture that reflects the communities we serve. We also provide reasonable adjustments throughout the recruitment process and in the workplace, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
If you meet many, but not all, of the role requirements, we encourage you to apply. We also welcome you to mention any career breaks in your cover letter to help us understand your journey.
Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in how we:
- Support staff-led inclusion and allyship groups.
- Offer flexible work practices that recognise different needs and life stages.
- Provide training, development and mentoring opportunities to increase inclusive leadership and create an environment where all staff can thrive.
- Partner with communities to strength cultural awareness and belonging.
- Ensure adjustments and accessible practices are available for diverse community groups.
- We continually strive to measure our progress and improve where we can.
Alongside our inclusive culture, you'll enjoy:
